Fun Friday Bridge Frolic   Announcements

Our Procedure for Posting Results:

Every Friday we try to have that day's results posted on this website by "suppertime."  Exceptions can occur, though, such as our last game in June of 2006.  When I got home that day, I discovered that an electrical storm the night before had fried my computer.  So, to allow for that sort of thing, let's say suppertime, barring acts of God.

CORRECTIONS

We double-check scores following every game, sometimes the same Friday, but more often not until Saturday morning.  Meanwhile, all players should check our posted scores against their scorecards, and report any discrepancies right away, by e-mail or phone to whichever director ran the game that day.  Our deadline for corrections (with a little flexibility, except for special games such as STaCs) is bedtime Saturday night.

Here's the procedure we follow for sending in your masterpoints to ACBL Headquarters in Memphis.  At the end of every month the ACBL receives our game results by e-mail.

Memphis updates their database each month with the masterpoints sent in from all over the country, up through the late night of the fifth.  This means Dale and I rush each month to get our results in no later than close of business on the fifth.  If we do, you will see your masterpoints on the ACBL website by the sixth or seventh if not before.  And your next month's copy of the Bulletin will list them as well.  That is, your July results will show up on-line in August, and then in your copy of the September Bulletin.

Lost and Found:

We retrieve the inevitable bumbershoot each week, if we find it, or convention card, but -- fair warning! -- we don't run inspection in the cloak room.  Everything we find is put out the next Friday on the tables at the northeast corner of the room, i.e. to your far left as you face away from the stage.

Snow Day closings:

Our policy is to follow the lead of Arlington schools (even though we're in Fairfax County).  If the Arlington schools close, so do we.  If the schools open no more than two hours late, we play on time.

Whenever in doubt, call the Bridge Information Line (BIL) at 703-204-0848, before coming to play.  They will have up-to-the-minute news.
